B: 不了。我在准备铁人三项赛,很多东西不能吃。
bùliǎo. wǒ zài zhǔnbèi tiěrén sānxiàngsài, hěn duō dōngxi bùnéng chī.
I can't. I'm preparing for the ironman triathlon. There's a lot of stuff that I can't eat.

Wow, you're really incredible! Then what do you eat now?
B: 我吃碳水化合物和镁高的东西、比如粗粮、坚果还有香蕉。
wǒ chī tànshuǐ huàhéwù hé měi gāo de dōngxi、 bǐrú cūliáng、 jiānguǒ háiyǒu xiāngjiāo.
I eat foods that are high in carbohydrates and magnesium, like coarse grains, nuts and bananas.
A: 你吃蛋白粉吗?很多练身体的人都吃那个。
nǐ chī dànbáifěn ma? hěn duō liàn shēntǐ de rén dōu chī nàge.
Do you take protein powder? A lot of people doing physical training take it.
B: 蛋白质能帮你恢复体力,等比赛完才吃。
dànbáizhì néng bāng nǐ huīfù tǐlì, děng bǐsài wán cái chī.
Protein helps you recover your strength; you eat that once the race is over.
A: 你什么时候开始练铁人三项的?
nǐ shénme shíhou kāishǐ liàn tiěrénsānxiàng de?
When did you start training for the ironman triathlon?
B: 大学的时候。我一直坚持到现在。
dàxué de shíhou. wǒ yīzhí jiānchí dào xiànzài.
In college. I've been keeping up with it constantly up to now.
A: 怪不得你身材保持得那么好。身上一点脂肪都没有。
guàibude nǐ shēncái bǎochí de nàme hǎo. shēnshàng yīdiǎn zhīfáng dōu méiyǒu.
No wonder you've stayed in such great shape. You don't have a bit of fat on you.
B: 你太夸张了!
nǐ tài kuāzhāng le!
You're exaggerating!
A: 铁人三项很累吧?一共多少距离呀?
tiěrénsānxiàng hěn lèi ba? yīgòng duōshao jùlí ya?
The ironman triathlon must be really tiring. How long is it in total?
B: 游泳、自行车、长跑加起来一共有200多公里。
yóuyǒng、 zìxíngchē、 chángpǎo jiā qǐlai yīgòng yǒu liǎngbǎi duō gōngli.
The swimming, biking, and long distance running altogether is more than 200 kilometers.
A: 什么?那要从上海到杭州了!
shénme? nà yào cóng Shànghǎi dào Hángzhōu le!
What? That's like Shanghai to Hangzhou!
B: 这个是超长距离。也有短一点的。
zhè ge shì chāo cháng jùlí. yě yǒu duǎn yīdiǎn de.
That's the super long-distance one. There's also shorter ones.
A: 哇,这样不是要比一天一夜?脚不会抽筋吗?
wā, zhèyàng bùshì yào bǐ yītiānyīyè? jiǎo bùhuì chōujīn ma?
Wow, wouldn't that take more than a day and a night? Wouldn't your feet cramp?
B: 要十几个小时。比赛当天要想尽办法避免抽筋、脱水。
yào shíjǐ ge xiǎoshí. bǐsài dàngtiān yào xiǎng jìn bànfǎ bìmiǎn chōujīn、 tuōshuǐ.
It's around 10 hours. You need to find a way on the day of the race to avoid cramping and dehydration.
A: 你简直是个超人!
nǐ jiǎnzhí shì ge chāorén!
You're really just a superman!
